Neanderthals – Wednesday June 19th 2024

In previous writings of mine I have shared some conclusions as to what happened regarding the tragic ending of the Neanderthals.

It would have been a most difficult and distressing period and having no technology or understanding of what was occurring for them.

It is likely that the very last Neanderthal, may have been a woman.

Due to the fact that women have XX, and X chromosome inactivation among other things, the inactivation can permit selection between the pair of X’s whereas men get a single X and any issues will be present and unavoidable.

It may be that the Neanderthal man began to experience problems fathering children on a broad scale.

I’m quite certain that they would have experienced developmental problems like ours, and  almost certainly had homosexuality within their population as well. It would have been very confusing without technology to explain many things.  Their social fabric would have started to breakdown, becoming smaller and smaller groups and little by little, they dwindled. 

They were surely aware something was terribly wrong, so it must have been very hard for them.

Irrespective of my conclusions as to what brought them to an end, it must have caused them tremendous sadness to experience their own decline.
